FOXBOROUGH -- It's clear New England brings the best out of Trent Brown.
Brown had a terrific 2018 season season with the team (his only year) and then signed a massive four-year, $66 million deal with the Raiders that offseason. But, things didn't go so well with Las Vegas as he played in just 16 games total over the last two seasons.
The offensive tackle was traded back to the Patriots this offseason where he appears happy once again.
So, why does he love playing for the Patriots organization?
“I really enjoy being coached and I don’t mind being coached hard," he said Tuesday following the in-stadium practice. "I like to know what I’m messing up. I don’t want to feel like you don’t have any knowledge for me, because then it’s just like ‘How can I get better?’ You know what I’m saying? I just want to get better. I want to be great, and I feel like attitude reflects leadership, and I feel like here the standard is set from top to bottom, and everybody falls in line and if you don’t you won’t be here. It’s simple as that.”
Brown recently noted on social media how good of a place he is mentally right now.
“Man, it’s just being in a place where I’m wanted, you know what I’m saying? Being in a place I actually want to be, and just having fun with ball again," he said. "Everything is clicking on all cylinders, all parts of my life, so I’m just happy for that.”
The 28-year-old will play right tackle with New England this time around after being the left tackle in his previous stint.
