According to a source, Alex Cora is returning as the manager of the Red Sox. Jon Heyman was first with the news.

Cora returns to the manager's chair after a year suspension stemming from his participation in the Houston Astros 2017 cheating scandal.

In his first season as manager of the Red Sox, Cora guided the Red Sox to the 2018 World Series championship. In his two years with the Sox he compiled a 192-132 record.

Cora was the choice over Phillies executive and New Hampshire native Sam Fuld.
