The Buffalo Bills are one of 12 teams in the National Football League to have never won a Super Bowl title.

Buffalo has come close several times, including four-straight seasons in the early 1990s when the Bills finished as AFC Champions, only to lose in the Super Bowl. Just last season, Buffalo reached the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 1993, but the Bills came just short of Super Bowl LV in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

If there are teams around the NFL most-deserving of a Super Bowl title, the Bills certainly come up in the discussion as a team hoping to exercise its demons from the devastating losses in the '90s.

NFL Network analyst Marc Ross certainly understands the yearning of the Buffalo fan base to win a Super Bowl. Ross served as a national college scout for the Bills for three seasons, and was with the organization for parts of the team's long playoff drought that started in 2000 and ended in 2017.

In an article written on Tuesday at NFL.com, Ross believes that "Bills Mafia" is the most-deserving fan base in the league to see their team win a Super Bowl:

"Let's go, Buffalo! Having worked for the team for three years, I know how passionate and hungry Bills fans are for a championship -- especially after the agonizing four consecutive Super Bowl losses in the early 1990s. Some other fan bases need one, as well (see: Cleveland), but after last year's AFC Championship Game appearance and having one of the NFL's brightest stars in Josh Allen, the Bill-lief is sky-high and can't be crushed again."

The Bills are certainly hoping to build off the successful season that was in 2020 at One Bills Drive. Buffalo finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, and also claimed their first AFC East title since the 1995 campaign.

Meanwhile, Josh Allen blossomed into the star quarterback that fans had hoped he become when he was drafted seventh overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old managed to throw for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions, while he also added 421 yards and eight scores on the ground, as well as a receiving touchdown. That level of production helped Allen finish second in MVP voting behind only Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Entering his fourth year in the NFL, Allen is hoping to build off his successful 2020 season and help lead the Bills back to the AFC Championship Game and beyond. Regardless of that fact, the Wyoming product is potentially bound for a big payday this offseason with general manager Brandon Beane hoping to get his franchise quarterback locked up to a long-term extension. There's also speculation that Allen would be willing to structure his extension in a team-friendly fashion to help benefit the team down the road.

A huge reason for Allen's success in 2020 was the acquisition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs paying off for the Bills in a huge way.

In his first season with the Bills, Diggs was able to lead the league with 127 receptions and 1,535 yards, while also reeling in eight touchdown receptions. Those numbers led to Diggs being named to the Pro Bowl, as well as a First-Team All-Pro nod for the first time in his NFL career.

Overall, the Buffalo offense finished the 2020 season as one of the highest-scoring units in the NFL, and set a franchise record with its first 500-point campaign (503) in team history. The Bills also finished second in the league in total yards (6,343), only behind the Chiefs as one of the most-efficient units in football.

The Bills will look to repeat their success offensively this season, especially with Brian Daboll returning for his fourth season as offensive coordinator after being passed over by several teams as a head coaching candidate.

There is plenty of optimism surrounding the Bills heading into the 2021 season, and the energy surrounding the team will only intensify with fans being allowed back to Highmark Stadium at full capacity.
