Edmonton, Alberta (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Another night, another opponent in Alberta. Tonight, it's a battle with the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. Forward Josh Norris was a late scratch from the Buffalo Sabres' lineup.
The Sabres took the lead, on a powerplay, with just under a minute left in the first period. Captain Rasmus Dahlin's point shot was tipped in front by Josh Doan, who was credited with his ninth goal of the season.
The aforementioned powerplay was due to a goaltender interference infraction against Oilers forward David Tomasek. He and Colten Ellis collided very hard; hard enough for Ellis to be called off the ice following Doan's goal. Enter Alex Lyon, who came in relief for a second-consecutive night.
