People and now a tree needs a blanket. The General Sherman Tree is being wrapped in a blanket to help protect it from fires raging in the Sequoia National Park's Giant Forest.
The blanket is made with aluminum. Even homes have been wrapped in aluminum. Over 2,000 sequoias are in the area, and General Sherman is getting special care because it is the worlds largest.
Fires have been planned, "Robust fire history of prescribed fire in that area is reason for optimism. Hopefully, the Giant Forest will emerge from this unscathed."
