
(WATERBURY,Conn./WTIC) - Waterbury Police Detectives conducting the investigation into the disappearance of 26 year old Janet Avalo-Alvarez of Waterbury, found a body some 50 feet off Route 69, Wolcott Road about a mile into Wolcott.The body , which has not been identified, was located around 5:30 pm Tuesday.
Avalo- Alvarez was reported missing by friends and co- workers on the night of November 13th.During the investigation, her boyfriend Alfredo Peguero-Gomez was identified as a person of interest.He is also the business partner of Avalo-Alvarez in a bar she owns in Waterbury.
Peguero- Gomez left the couple's Waterbury home the day after Avalo-Alvarez was reported missing.The vehicle was spotted on the George Washington Bridge and was later found parked at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.He has yet to be located.
Police say they have been in contact with State's Attorney Maureen Platt and with the family of Avalo-Alvarez informing them of the update on the investigation into her disappearance.
