BEACON FALLS, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating the deaths of two young children in a Beacon Falls crash that injured three others.
Riquelme Alves Brito, 3, and Laura Alves Brito, 6, both of Bridgeport, are identified as the two victims killed in the Sunday afternoon crash.
Troopers say a 2023 Ford F600 Super Duty truck slammed into the back of a 2021 Honda Civic EX around 3:26 p.m. on Route 8 Northbound near exit 23 in Beacon Falls.
The children were in the vehicle that was rear-ended.
When troopers arrived at the scene, both vehicles were stopped in the left lane and shoulder, slammed into a concrete barrier.
The two adults in the Honda are hospitalized at Waterbury Hospital, where they're receiving treatment for serious injuries.
The driver of the Ford truck is hospitalized with minor injuries.
