BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A judge is set to begin hearing the case involving the challenge to the Bridgeport democratic mayor primary election outcome.
The John Gomes campaign released video footage showing a woman stuffing an absentee ballot box with papers. It was after absentee ballots were counted, according to the Gomes campaign, that the democrat lost to incumbent Joe Ganim.
Gomes, who is appearing on the ballot as an intendent during the general election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, wants the primary results to be disqualified.
Judge William Clark is going to begin hearing arguments in the case at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fairfield Judicial District Superior Court house on Main Street in Bridgeport.
The State Elections Enforcement Commission and Bridgeport police are investigating.
