Connecticut River flooding affects East Hartford

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Police in East Hartford are warning residents and motorists about flooding throughout the town.

Floodwaters from torrential rainfall in Vermont is making its way south via the Connecticut River, which is swelling in communities along the river.


East Hartford is among the affected towns.

Emergency response officials in East Hartford have issued alerts with information about localized flooding on their social media pages.

As the Connecticut River continues to rise, some roads in the area may experience moderate flooding. The affected streets include:

- All streets west of Prospect St.

- Pitkin St. from May St.

- West to the Connecticut River and along East River Dr.

- West of the Route 2 overpass.

- All streets between Prospect St. and Floradale Dr.
