Connecticut State Police identify a man who died in a crash that happened in Norwich last week.
Troopers say Jacques Bertheau, 78, was driving a 2004 Nissan Xterra that went off the road and crashed into the Lawler Lane overpass near Exit 18 on I-395 Northbound around 10:48 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Bertheau was taken to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of serious injuries. He was transferred to Hartford Hospital where he later died.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
