WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Massachusetts State Police are searching for a Hartford man wanted in connection with a shooting in West Hartford.
Just after 2 a.m., West Hartford officers responded to shots fired on the west side of the University of Saint Joseph campus before a serious rollover crash was reported.
According to Massachusetts State Police, Darnell Barnes, 22, of Hartford, allegedly shot someone multiple times in West Hartford.
Barnes is described as a Black male, approximately 5’5″ tall with a slender build. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Massachusetts State Police are currently searching for Barnes in the towns of Russell and Blandford, west of Springfield.
Residents in those towns are told to take precautions and call 9-1-1 if Barnes is seen.
The University of Saint Joseph, in a written statement, says the campus is safe and that there is no threat to the community.
