Meriden man arrested over striking Mohegan Police cruiser

BOZRAH, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrest a Meriden man who allegedly struck a Mohegan Police cruiser on Thanksgiving.

Mohegan tribal police contacted State Police around 7:15 a.m. that a red and black colored Mini Cooper struck their police cruiser and continued to flee the area.


State Police received the report of a Mini Cooper either previously involved in a crash or otherwise disabled on Route 2 Westbound near Exit 22.

Jean Carlos Colon, 27, of Meriden, was arrested on criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, interfering with an officer.

Colon received a summons for violation of Connecticut general statutes, operating while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, and improper use of a marker or registration.

Colon is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior court on December 9, 2021.
