BRISTOL, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ The victim of a Sunday night homicide in Bristol had multiple protective orders against her accused killer.

Bristol Police say a 58-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her bedroom at a home on Vance Drive.

Kevin Bard, 54, was sitting on the couch at that house when police arrived. He cooperated with officers and was taken into custody.

Police say Bard and the victim were in a long-term dating relationship. Multiple protective orders prohibited Bard and the victim from having contact with each other.

Officers received a call Sunday night around 9:25 p.m. requested a well-being check at the victim's house. The caller reported he received a phone call from Bard, claiming to have killed the victim.

Bard has been charged with murder, criminal trespass, and four counts of violation of a protective order. He remains held on a $1,00,000 bond.
