WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A recount conducted Sunday confirms that West Haven Democratic Mayor Nancy Rossi has been elected to another term.
Rossi prevailed over Republican challenger Barry Lee Cohen by 32 votes, according to the recount, which took most of the day Sunday.
Cohen said he still has questions about the vote, charging that absentee ballots weren't properly secured.
The race was rocked by a federal investigation into the alleged misuse of federal COVID-19 funds that resulted in the arrests of two city employees, who are no longer on the job.
Cohen repeated his call Sunday for Rossi to resign in light of the scandal. Rossi insisted she didn't do anything wrong.
