SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Southington Police are investigating a serious Sunday night involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
The accident happened in the area of South Main and Mulberry Streets around 10:43 p.m.
Police say Michael Mazzacane, 66, was riding a 2003 Yamaha XVS1100 Motorcycle, traveling southbound on the South Main Street.
That's when a 2013 Nissan Xterra, traveling northbound on South Main Street, was attempting to turn onto I-84 Eastbound.
The crash happened when the Nissan began the turn and collided with the motorcycle.
Mazzacane is receiving hospital care at Saint Mary's Hospital for treatment of "significant" injuries.
