Special elections to fill two general assembly seats scheduled

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Two special elections are going to be held at the end of next month to replace two lawmakers who recently resigned.

Governor Lamont sets Tuesday, February 25, 2025, as the day two special elections will be held to fill two empty general assembly seats.


State Senator Kevin Kelly and State Representative Christine Conley resigned on Tuesday, the day before the start of the 2025 legislative session.

Kelly, a republican in the 21st Senatorial District, was responsible for portions of Monroe, Seymour, and Stratford, and the entirety of Shelton.

Conley, a democrat in the 40th Assembly District, oversaw portions of Groton and new London.

All regular election laws in Connecticut, including access to early voting, will be in place.
