Train hits unoccupied car in Hartford

Hartford Police are investigating what led up to a train hitting a vehicle early Monday morning.

The accident happened in the area of 90 Reserve Road.


A train was found about two miles north of the impact scene with a 2003 Honda Accord affixed to the front of it.

The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision and there were no injuries reported.

The train engineer reported a large gathering of cars and motorcycles in the area of impact and described a large group of people shooting fireworks at the train as it passed.

There were no injuries reported and minor damage observed to the locomotive.
