Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Connecticut Department of Transportation is reminding the public about driving safely with a recent increase in motorcycle crashes.

State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash Monday afternoon around 5 p.m. on Route 44 in New Haven, in which Robert Holcomb, 31, of Unionville, lost control while riding near Breeze Hill Road. He was later pronounced dead at the Winsted Health Center.

A deadly motorcycle crash Tuesday morning on Route 189 is under investigation in Simsbury.

West Hartford Police are also investigating a motorcycle crash involving serious injuries at the intersection of Fern Street and Mountain Road.

Motorcyclists are being reminded to wear certified helmets, increase distance between other vehicles, and observe all traffic markings and signals.

Vehicle drivers are being reminded of similar warnings pertaining to signals and following distance.
