WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - West Hartford Police arrest a town resident in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash involving another vehicle last November.
Police say Sue Deffenbaugh, 83, of West Hartford, allegedly ran over a pedestrian who had been previously hit by an initial vehicle in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Saint James Street on November 9, 2024.
After running that victim over, police say Deffenbaugh drove off while the first vehicle remained at the scene.
Deffenbaugh is charged with evading responsibility resulting in death and failure to exercise reasonable care near a vulnerable user on a public way.
Her bond is $400,000, with a stipulation that she cannot operate a motor vehicle.
