(WWJ) A six-hour standoff in St. Clair Shores that began Thursday ended with one man dead early on Friday.
The incident began when police were called to Shores Pointe Motor Lodge on Nine Mile near I-94 on reports of a man who was firing gunshots. Witnesses said they had seen him earlier with an AK-47.
"He was acting erratically and harassing some of the guests up on the second floor. He brought a pizza to two of the women at the end of the hall. They were a little bit put off by his behavior," one witness told WWJ's Charlie Langton.
Police said when they responded the man barricaded himself in a room and stayed there until early this morning when he took his own life.
No officers were hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
