WYANDOTTE (WWJ) - A 22-year-old man who attempted to steal a car from a Wyandotte gas station is facing charges after the would-be victim fought back.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. Sunday at the Marathon gas station along Biddle Avenue at Ford Avenue.
Police say Hussain Sabir Foxworth, of Van Buren Township, exited the gas station and struck a motorist who was getting gas, then attempted to drive off in the victim's truck.
The victim wasn't giving up easily, though. Police say he pulled Foxworth from his truck, then detained him until officers arrived at the scene.
Foxworth was arraigned Wednesday on one count of carjacking, with bond set at $500,000. He's due back in court for a probable cause conference on July 25 and a preliminary exam on August 2.
