(WWJ) The State of Michigan is reporting a dozen new deaths from coronavirus and more than 200 new cases.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) said 202 more residents have tested positive for the virus since Sunday.
This is the fifth consecutive day Michigan has reported less than 500 cases.

That brings Michigan’s total to 54,881 confirmed cases and 5,240 deaths.
Southeastern Michigan has been the hardest hit throughout this pandemic with about 65% of the state's total cases in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County (including Detroit). The tri-county area is home to 34,558 of the state’s total cases.
Health officials say the rate of rise in new cases per 1,000,000 residents continues to slow in Metro Detroit.
Region 2N is Oakland, St Clair and Macomb County.

Region 2S is Wayne (including Detroit), Washtenaw and Monroe.

However, health officials said the rate of infection is growing in the western and middle part of the state. Governor Whitmer's office said in a recent press release the case count doubles every ten days in those areas.
The MDHHS says Kent County (which includes Grand Rapids) is nearing 3,400 total cases and nearly 70 deaths.
Region 6 is Kent, Clare, Ionia, Isabella, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola and Ottawa counties.

Genesee County (which includes Flint) has reported more than 1,960 cases and 240 deaths.
Saginaw has nearly 1,000 cases and more than 100 deaths, according to the MDHHS. You can see a full breakdown of cases by county here.
Region 3 is Saginaw, Genesee, lcona, Iosco, Ogemaw, Arenac, Gladwin, Midland, Bay, Tuscola, Lapeer, Sanilac and Huron counties.

MDHHS data says 953 people are hospitalized across the state with COVID-19; 319 are on ventilators. You can read more about hospitalizations here.
The average age of death is 75.3 years old. The median age is 77; meaning half of those who died were younger, the others older. The age range of the deceased is 5 to 107 years old.
Over 85% those who passed away from the virus in Michigan were older than 60. You can see a complete age breakdown here.
On a happy note; MDHHS says 33,168 people (60% of total confirmed cases) are considered recovered after surviving 30 days post diagnosis.
