WARREN (WWJ) - Police in Warren are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian.
The crash was reported around 8 p.m. Friday near Westminster and Van Dyke avenues, a few blocks north of 8 Mile Road.
Police say a 63-year-old Warren man was attempting the walk across the street in a crosswalk when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver remains at large. The vehicle is described as light-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Liberty or Jeep Commander, with front-end damage
