DETROIT (WWJ -- The search is on for a suspect that Detroit police say fatally stabbed a woman on the city's west side Saturday night while medics were responding to a separate 9-1-1 call.

Authorities say Detroit EMS were called to a home in the 80 block of W. Arizona Street -- a block north of McNichols Road, between Woodward Avenue and John R Street on the city's west side -- around 9:30 p.m. Saturday regarding an unresponsive 50-year-old man.

While medics were attempting to revive the man with CPR, police say a 26-year-old relative of the man stabbed a woman to death in the next room over. The suspect, identified as Darius Calhoun, fled the scene on foot and remains at-large. The stabbing victim has not been identified, but police say she is in her 20s.

She and the original subject of the 9-1-1 call were both pronounced dead at the scene. The man cause of the man's death is still under investigation by medical examiners, but police believe it was from natural causes.

Calhoun is described as a black male, about 5-foot-11, 250 lbs., with medium brown complexion and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with blue jeans.

Anyone with information pertaining to the stabbing is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit at (313) 596-2260. Calls can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
