(WWJ) A dispute over wearing a mask has Utica police looking for a man who punched a manager and bartender at a bar.
Police say the suspect was among a group of people who went into the Black Rock Bar and Grill two weeks ago, with members of the group not following proper safety protocols.
They were asked to put on masks.
Most did, but one man who refused to put on a mask was asked to leave. His response? He punched the bar manager and a bartender.
He took off before police arrived. Police have put out video of the suspect and are asking anyone with information to call Utica Police Detective Morabito at 586-731-2345.
Detective Sgt. Greg Morabito told WDIV-TV that attacking restaurant personnel won't be tolerated.
"They're just trying to keep everybody safe right now, they're trying to do what the governor wants them to do to keep patrons safe and I don't think the request to put the mask on was unreasonable," Morabito said.
In the most violent mask incident since they were mandated in Michigan, a man stabbed someone in a convenience store outside Lansing when he was ordered to wear one and was later shot and killed by police.
