(WWJ) The situation was bad, but it could have been a lot worse at the Shell gas station on Jefferson in Detroit -- because in this case no one was injured.
It was a scene of destruction at about 4 a.m.,WWJ's Charlie Langton reports, when two men tied a rope of some kind around an ATM and attempted to topple it over by dragging it with a truck.
They backed the truck into the glass front of the gas station, spewing shards everywhere. The men ran back inside the shattered doors, grabbed the ATM and loaded it onto the truck before speeding away.
Unknown is how much money they got away with, but the owner said the ATM was filled with money the day before.
The empty truck was recovered about an mile away from the scene.
