(WWJ) A teenager is hospitalized, an another person has been arrested, following an early morning shooting in Southfield.
Southfield Police say they were called just before 3 a.m. Friday to the area of Lahser and 8 1/2 Mile Rd., after someone heard gunshots.
Officers pulled over a car in the area, and found a 16-year-old girl wounded and bleeding in the backseat.
After interviewing people at the scene, detectives determined the teen had been shot by someone she knew; and apparently, police said, it and accident.
The person who allegedly fired the gun was taken into custody.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Expected charges are pending against the shooter, as the investigation continues.
No names were released.
