MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) – Two men are behind bars after being busted with drugs at a Macomb County apartment complex over the weekend.
Sheriff's deputies were on patrol at the Northport Apartments in Macomb Township – near Hall and Garfield Roads – on Saturday due to recent investigations when they saw a gray Mercedes SUV with headlights and interior lights on.
When they went to investigate, they found a 25-year-old Roseville man standing near the car and a 29-year-old Shelby Township man in the driver's seat.
The Roseville man outside the car was seen "frantically picking up multiple pills off the ground," according to the sheriff's office.
The man had about $2,000 in cash wrapped in a rubber band and Xanax, Adderall and other opiates in his backpack.
Deputies found a large amount of cash in the driver's side door and a white powdery substance on the seat.
Both men were arrested and held at the Macomb County Jail.
Neither suspect's name has been released, as they are both awaiting arraignment. It was not immediately clear what charges they will face.
