CANTON (WWJ) -- Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a deadly overnight crash in Canton, according to police.
Canton Police said a woman was killed and a man was injured in the incident, at around 12:20 a.m. Thursday, in the area of Michigan Ave and Lilley.
According to a preliminary investigation. a 32-year-old Belleville woman was driving a Chevy Malibu westbound on Michigan Avenue when she was hit head-on by a GMC Acadia SUV, driven by a 37-year-old Ypsilanti man.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital where the woman was pronounced dead, and the man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
No names have been released, as the investigation by the Canton Police Department's Accident Investigation Team continues.
