WALLED LAKE (WWJ) -- The search is expected to resume on Thursday for a boater who went missing on Walled Lake.
Authorities told WWJ's Charlie Langton that three people were out boating Wednesday night, when they jumped in for a swim.
When heavy thunderstorms moved in, police sources say gusty winds blew the boat away.
Two of the swimmers were able to make it safely back onto the boat, while the third did not, disappearing in the water.
The boaters called for help, and search rescue teams from Novi, Walled Lake and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office all responded.
Police and dive teams had no luck finding the missing swimmer Wednesday night, and the search was eventually called off due to low visibility and poor weather conditions.
Langton said an intensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies would resume on Thursday, but that another round of showers and possible thunderstorms in the forecast could complicate matters.
At this time, no details about the missing person — including age, gender or hometown — have been released.
