ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WWJ) -- A criminal investigation is underway after a body was found following a fatal fire in Roseville Monday morning.
Officials with the Roseville Police Department say they responded to a house fire around 10 a.m. Monday in the Leslie Mobile Home Community in the 25000 block of Gratiot Avenue. The Roseville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
While on scene, fire personnel found a woman's dead body inside the residence. The victim has not yet been identified.
Roseville police are conducting a criminal investigation, assisted by the Roseville Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
It is not clear what caused the fire or what prompted a criminal investigation, but reports say police are searching for the woman's husband and this could be a possible case of arson. The couple reportedly has children who were not home at the time of the fire.
Authorities expect to release more information about the fire and the victim when it becomes available.
