(WWJ) A Detroit man is dead after his house caught fire Monday morning.
Firefighters were called to the home, on Faust Street near Warren Ave. and the Southfield Freeway on the city's west side, at around 11:30 a.m.
Deputy Detroit Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the man, in his 60s, was found on the floor just outside the kitchen, where it's believed the fire started.
Fornell said this appears to have been a cooking accident, although some questions remain concerning exactly what happened.
"The cause of death at this point appears to be smoke inhalation." Fornell added. "He was not burned badly...but that's going to be pending the Medical Examiner's report."
No other injuries were reported.
Fornell said investigators remained on the scene into the afternoon.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
