WATCH: Detroit burglary suspect tries to turn security camera, but it shows him entering house anyway

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are searching for a burglary suspect in Detroit who was caught on camera climbing a fence and then trying to turn the camera away.

Officials say the burglary happened around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 in the 18200 block of Littlefield – near Outer Drive and the John C. Lodge Freeway.

Video posted to Twitter Wednesday shows the suspect climb a fence in the backyard, immediately walk up to a camera on the back of the house and turn it so he's no longer seen.

One problem – the way he turned it shows him walking up the back steps while crouching and then enter the house while a dog is heard barking.

Officials have not said what was taken from the home but are asking for help from the community identifying the suspect.

The suspect was seen wearing what appears to be a brown t-shirt, dark shorts, a red hat, white shoes and a blue face mask.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect or knows something about the burglary is asked to  contact Officer Sterner of the 12th Precinct Detective Unit, or call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
