DETROIT (WWJ) – Police in Detroit are searching for a man who was seen firing shots from the front seat of a car after getting into a verbal altercation at a red light.

The scene unfolded shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday in the area of W. Warren and the Southfield Freeway Service Drive on the city's west side, according to Detroit police.

Officials say two suspects in a newer model silver Ford Escape were sitting at a red light when they exchanged words with a 22-year-old man in a gray Dodge Durango.

Police didn't say what sparked the altercation, but one of the suspects, in the front seat of the Ford, pulled out a gun, hung out the window and fired several shots at the victim.
