DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department has confirmed that an officer-involved shooting took place Monday morning.
According to authorities, the incident occurred in the area of I-96 and Tireman.
There are reports that the incident involved the driver of a Dodge Caravan who struck and officer's vehicle, although that information was not immediately confirmed by police.
Along with the Detroit Police, Michigan State Police are also involved and will assist DPD with their investigation into the shooting.
It's not clear if anyone was shot or injured.
