Drunk driver four times over legal limit left trail of damaged road signs, median in Genesee County: cops

GRAND BLANC TWP (WWJ) - Police in Genesee County said one highly intoxicated woman blew a .30 blood-alcohol level after she had plowed her vehicle through a median and road signs before driving away Wednesday evening.

Grand Blanc Township police said via mLive they responded to a report of a suspected car crash near East Hill Road at the railroad tracks around 6:49 p.m. on March 2.

Officers at the scene found several median signs had been crashed into, but they could not locate a vehicle.

A short time later, police said they spotted a vehicle suspected in the crash, parked in a lot near Hill and Saginaw.

The driver, a 56-year-old woman, was visibly intoxicated and arrested. Police issued a breath test at the station where the woman registered .30 — the legal limit is .08.

Police said she was admitted to Hurley Medical Center in Flint where she was treated. She was later held in the Genesee County Jail.

Authorities said there were no injuries as a result of the crash.

"Traffic enforcement continues to be a top priority for the Grand Blanc Township Police as we work to keep our roads safe," the department said in a post on Facebook, according to mLive.

"Please don't get behind the wheel if you've have been drinking or using drugs."
