DETROIT (WWJ) -- Attention drivers: There's another freeway closure ahead.
The Frontenac Street bridge in Detroit will be undergoing construction this weekend, which will require crews to close stretch of I-94, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced Thursday.

MDOT crews will be setting new steel beams on the Frontenac Street overpass -- replacing the original structure which was built in 1954.
This construction requires both directions of I-94 between I-75 and M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) to close.
The closures begin at 9 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 5 and expected to be reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 8.
During the closure, westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via southbound M-3, the westbound Gratiot Connector, and northbound I-75 back to westbound I-94.
Eastbound I-94 traffic will be detoured via southbound I-75, the eastbound Gratiot Connector and northbound M-3, to eastbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) back to eastbound I-94.
All entrance ramps to westbound -- from Chalmers to Chene streets) and eastbound (from I-96 to Gratiot Avenue) I-94 will be closed beginning at 7 p.m.
All entrance ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday.
