(WWJ) An Ecorse mother will appear in court on Wednesday to face charges in the death of her own 1-year-old son.
Lisa Marie Reed is set to be arraigned in 25th District Court, after her former live-in boyfriend, James Edward Gibson, Jr., was arraigned in the shocking case this morning.
Reed, 34, is charged with Second Degree Murder and First Degree Child Abuse, while Gibson, 34, is charged with First Degree Murder and First Degree Child Abuse in connection with the death of 13-month-old Zyaire Reed.
Back in July, first responders were called to the family's home in the 3900 block of 7th Street back to find two small boys -- identified as Zyaire Reed and his twin brother, Zion Reed -- with what were described as horrific injuries.
Both the mother and her boyfriend were arrested at the scene.
The twins were taken to a hospital where Zyaire died and Zion was listed in critical condition with facial injuries and broken bones.
Gibson, who authorities say is not the twins' father, was ordered held without bond. He remains in the Wayne County Jail awaiting a Probable Cause Conference scheduled for Oct. 27.
Lisa Marie Reed also remains held without bond, charged back in July for the abuse of the surviving twin.
Reports say Gibson has criminal record, including past child abuse.
