(WWJ) A missing teenager from Lapeer County has been found after authorities and volunteers led an extensive search since his disappearance several days ago.

The Dryden Township Police Department made the announcement just before noon on Saturday saying 16-year-old Nathan John Baughman was located near the Michigan-Ohio border by deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office earlier in the morning.

"Nathan is in good health and is in the process of being reunited with his family," the police department said in a press release.

The teen left a note on his bed saying that he was running away and discouraged anyone from trying to find him, MSP said.

He had no prior history of running away, his parents said, and there was no indication he intends to harm himself.

Baughman is believed to be traveling on a black Schwinn mountain bike with green lettering, although police do not know in what direction he was headed, or where he might be headed.

Police noted that the teen's biological mother lives in Pontiac and his grandparents live in Waterford Township.

He is believed to be wearing an olive-green hoodie with dark sweatpants and black Under Armor brand running shoes.

Tuesday afternoon, Metamora Township Police, Lapeer Township Police, Lapeer County Search and Rescue and Michigan State Police were actively searching for him.

Anyone who has seen this missing teen, or who has any information concerning his whereabouts should call the Lapeer Central Dispatch at 810-667-0292, or the Dryden Township Police Department at 810-796-2271.

In an emergency, as always, dial 911.
