It's been more than a year without answers for one family in the murder of a man in Detroit.
Police say Joshua Montanez-Rivera was gunned down Feb. 20, 2020, when he, along with a friend, went to help a woman they thought was in trouble near the intersection of Varney and Ackley. A fight ensued, and someone opened fire.
The victim's sister, Yalmares Torres-Montanez, is pleading for help.
A cash reward of $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect is being offered by Crime Stoppers. Anyone with information should call 1-800-Speak-Up.
“We just want justice for him. Like, we just want to know what really happened. Who did it? Somebody has to pay for what he did,” Yalmares Torres-Montanez said.
