DETROIT (WWJ) -- Who killed Kevin Batiste?
Now nearly two years after the 28-year-old father of three was gunned down outside a gentlemen's club in Detroit, investigators are still seeking suspects in the case.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest in the murder of Batiste on July 14, 2021, on Detroit’s northwest side.
The shooting happened at around 1:30 a.m. at the Dolla Bill Club, in the 17000 block of Plymouth Rd., near the Southfield Freeway.
According to Crime Stoppers, Batiste had witnessed a commotion in the parking lot involving two event promoters. He tried to intervene to "keep the peace," and that's when the shots were fired.
After the incident, two suspects — described by Detroit Police only as males in dark clothing — fled in a dark-colored SUV vehicle heading south on Longacre.
Batiste, who was shot in the chest and the arm, died at the scene.
Batiste's parents and other family members are scheduled to speak at a Crime Stoppers news conference on Thursday, July 13, 2023, renewing their plea for tips in the case.

Family members plead for tips in Detroit murder case
Batiste's mother, Rochelle Washington, was among loved ones who spoke at the initial news conference two years ago, asking for help to find justice for her son.
"It won't change the narrative my son is gone forever," Washington said. "Yet the pain, the sleepless nights, the roller coaster of emotion of his memory floods our hearts."
"(There are) many question as to why and who stole his life, shattered our world."
Batiste's daughter's mom Daneisha, holding the little girl in her arms, said there were a lot of people out there that night, and somebody must know something. "Speak up," she said. "Like, we miss him so much. His presence is definitely missed."
