Indiana woman arrested for high-speed chase in Rochester Hills [VIDEO]

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WWJ) -- An Indiana woman is facing charges after allegedly rummaging through multiple vehicles at a Rochester Hills gas station and then leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle that was captured on dash camera.

It all unfolded just before midnight on Friday when Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Mobil gas station in the 2900 block of Walton Boulevard in Rochester Hills on the report of a larceny from an auto.

The owner of a Dodge Dart exited the gas station and saw a woman driving his car away from the gas pumps, before she stopped in the parking lot and got out. She reportedly had taken two watches, some cash and a bag containing firearm magazines from the Dodge, before hopping into another vehicle.

This time it was a Dodge Ram pickup that was parked at the pumps. She tried to start the truck several times, according to police, but failed to do so. When she was confronted by the owner of the truck, she got out and ultimately fled the scene in a silver Ford F-150.

Deputies saw the truck in a parking lot across the street from the Mobil station. When deputies made contact with her, she fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

Authorities in fully marked patrol vehicles flipped on their lights and sirens and attempted to stop her, but ultimately had to rely on rumble strips to bring the truck -- which was reported stolen out of Indiana -- in the area of Walton Boulevard and University, east of Livernois.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office released dash cam footage of the chase on Monday.

The stop sticks took out the truck's front tires and the driver rammed into a brick paver wall at East University near Elizabeth Street.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Colleen Margaret Staker of Trafalgar, Indiana, suffered no injuries and was cleared at the scene by Rochester City paramedics. Alcohol was not a factor, police said.

Staker was arraigned Monday on two felony counts of unlawful driving away of an automobile and one count of fleeing and eluding. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or 10%. She is being held in the Oakland County Jail.

Authorities did not say whether she will be facing charges for the stolen items from the Dodge Dart.

Her next court date has not been set.
