REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) — A man is behind bars after a police chase in Redford Township last week sent two officers to the hospital.

Robbin Lagrande Gough was arraigned last Thursday on four charges and ordered to be held on $1 million bond.

The incident happened around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to Redford police.

That morning officers were called to the area of Dalby and 8 Mile — just west of Telegraph, near the Detroit border — on reports of a stolen van.

Responding officers found the van in the area and tried to pull the driver over, but Gough allegedly fled and officers gave chase until they were able to box in the stolen van.

When the van finally came to a stop, officers removed Gough and he allegedly fought back, resulting in injuries to two Redford officers.

Once Gough was taken into custody, the officers were taken to the hospital and later released after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police officials said Gough was also on parole absconder status and was involved in multiple other crimes prior to the police chase. While authorities did not release details about those alleged crimes, additional charges are expected to be filed.

If Gough posts bond, he will be ordered to wear a GPS tether.
