(WWJ) A 29-year old man is behind bars is in Detroit, accused in a murder early this month on the city's east side.
"Through relentless follow-up, and tips from members of the community," the Detroit Police Department said, Isiah Clay was identified as the person who pulled the trigger, killing another man in the 18000 block of Conant.
At around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, police alleged that Clay got into a dispute with the 38-year-old victim inside a gas station.
At some point Clay pulled a gun, police said, and fired shots that fatally wounded the other man.
Police said Clay fled on foot after the shooting but was arrested, thanks to tips from members of the community.
He was located by police in the 4000 block of Gladstone on Jan. 20, arrested and taken to the Detroit Detention Center for processing.
Clay has since been arraigned on one count of second degree murder, and one count of using a firearm in commission of a felony.
His bond was set at $1 million.
The DPD, in a news releases, noted special acknowledgements to the Homicide Unit "for bringing this suspect to justice."
