INKSTER (WWJ) - Police are searching for a suspected murderer Thursday morning after officers discovered a deceased man in a Wayne County home.
WWJ's Mike Campbell reported live from the ranch brick home where the body was found in the 1400 block of Meadow Lane in Inskter, off Lexington Parkway and Middlebelt, in between Michigan Ave. and Cherry Hill.
According to Campbell, Inkster police were called to the small home on a welfare check around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday when they stumbled across the dead body of a man in his 40s inside.
"They're not saying how he died, but they are saying it has been ruled a homicide and they do have a suspect or a person of interest," Campbell said.
Police did not give additional information about the person-of-interest, but plan to provide an update to the case as their investigation continues.
The identity of the deceased victim was not released. Police only confirmed the man was in his 40s.
An investigation remains underway at this time, but detectives are collecting tips from the public.
Anyone with any information about the incident has been asked to contact Inkster police at 313-563-9850 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
