Cash reward offered for tips in case of metro Detroit man missing for five years

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A family is pleading for answers about a loved one who has been missing nearly five years.

Frinnie Williamson last spoke to his sister on Nov. 8, 2016, but has not been seen or heard from since.

Family members say it was unusual for Williamson, a husband and father, to have no contact with his family for an extended period of time. He had never missed a holiday until he went missing half a decade ago, and now his family is renewing their pleas for tips in the case.

Williamson, 54, was known to be living in Southfield, but also frequently stayed in Detroit. He has struggled with substance abuse and has gone missing in the past, but it was unusual for him to be gone for so long.

He had been a strong advocate and volunteer for various Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous programs as a facilitator of their programs.

Authorities say Williamson is a Howell Public Schools alum and the father of Frinnie Williamson, Jr.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for tips in his case.

Anyone who has seen Frinnie Williamson or has any information regarding his whereabouts. Calls can be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, or tips can be submitted at 1800speakup.org.
