Thousands of fans lined South University and State streets in Ann Arbor Saturday morning for a parade celebrating the University of Michigan men's basketball national championship.
As the sun shined, shouts of "Go Blue" were heard as the players, standing in the back of three Ford F-150s, drove by and Coach Dusty May and his wife rode in a classic fire truck on the route which started at the President's House and ended at Yost Arena.
"We're here for the boys in blue, go blue all day," one fan told WWJ's Charlie Langton. Another said the championship was the "greatest thing since sliced bread."

The basketball team won the its first basketball championship since 1989 when they beat UConn Monday night.
"I went with my wife down to Indy for the games so it was a great time and I was a student in 97 so I was on this parade route after the football season, so its been a fun, fun ride," fan Joel Craven told WWJ's Jon Hewett talking about the Wolverines 1997 football championship.
There were maize and blue donuts along the route Saturday and fans held signs that said "Go Blue" and "Go Michigan." Some of the players threw out nerf basketballs, others signed autographs.

The celebration was to conclude with a 1 p.m. championship event inside Crisler Center.
