Friday afternoon and into the evening, National Weather Service forecasters are calling for a couple of pop-up storms that could being heavy downpours with damaging winds gusts up to 60 mph.
On Friday, all of Southeast Michigan is looking as a "marginal to slight" risk of excessive rainfall. NWS says the greatest risk of thunderstorms over the weekend will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and then after midnight Saturday into early Sunday morning.
Something else to keep in mind if you have outdoor plans: AccuWeather is calling for "dangerous heat" during the day on Saturday, with a high of 95 degrees, feeling more like 97 in the sun before the storms roll in.
If you're waiting for the good news, Sunday is looking much nicer, with no rain expected past the early morning hours.
AccuWeather says it'll be breezy and not as hot in Metro Detroit on Sunday, with intervals of clouds and sunshine; becoming less humid in the afternoon with a high of 84 degrees the suburbs.
Meanwhile, thousands of Metro Detroiters are still dealing with power outages after strong winds brought down trees and wires Wednesday night.
By late afternoon on Friday, DTE Energy a little more than 16,000 of its customers were still waiting for their electrical service to be restored.
Some of the largest outages remaining were in the Southfield, Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Royal Oak areas. Further north, there are also pockets of outages in the Rochester/Rochester Hills areas. DTE said thousands of DTE field crews, along with additional line workers brought in from other stares have been working around the clock to restore power as soon as possible.
