PONTIAC (WWJ) -- An Oakland County man was killed over the weekend when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in a residential yard, according to authorities.
An investigation is ongoing into the incident Sunday afternoon, at Gingell Court near Chamberlain St., north of Woodward Ave. near Perry St. in Pontiac.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Andrew Joseph Haines of White Lake Township was riding his 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Gingell when he went off the roadway, and drove into the deck of a house on Chamberlain St.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unclear at this time what caused Haines to lost control of the bike, and it's not was not known if drugs or alcohol may have played a role, the sheriff's office said.
The crash is being investigated by the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit.
Officials noted that Haines was wearing a helmet.
