SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- A person of interest has been arrested following a shooting in Southfield that left a 30-year-old Oak Park man hospitalized.
Southfield police officers and first responders were called to the 28000 block of Fairfax -- near 11 Mile and Greenfield -- around 9 p.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call about a shooting victim.
When officers showed up they found the man suffering from a bullet wound. Crews were able to keep the man alive while he was transported to a local hospital. He was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday night.
While authorities haven't released many details about the shooting -- including a possible motive or what happened leading up to the shooting -- police took a person of interest into custody on Monday.
Authorities have not released any information about the person of interest, but said the investigation is still ongoing and will be submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for a charging decision.
